Nima was born in 1981 in Tehran, Iran.

He started music with playing santoor in 1990 and studied with a number of renowed professors such as Pashang Kamkar, Siamak Aghaie and Mohamadreza Heravizadeh.

From 1994 he began to play Daf and in 1998 he earned the title of the best Daf player in Fajr Music Festival and again in 1999 in Kerman Music Festival. He accompanied many musical groups such as Rastak, Khonya, Lotus, Tal, Soroush, Tolou, Choopi and has performed in a number of music festivals.

He has performed world music with the Association Melody for Dialogue among Civilizations since 2005 (Paris ,France) during the celebration of UNESCO’s 60th anniversary.

Nima was also an invited guest artist in the New Silk Road Journey Symphony led by Maestro Tan Dun in September 2014 in China.
